Vittoria Ensemble is pleased to announce the selection of David McNeil as our new Artistic Director. McNeil currently serves as Director of Choral Studies at Colorado Christian University where he teaches conducting and conducts multiple choirs. He moved to Denver in 2018 from New Haven, Connecticut, where he is a candidate for the Doctor of Musical Arts degree in choral conducting at the Yale School of Music and Institute of Sacred Music. While in Connecticut, he served as principal assistant conductor to the Yale Camerata and Camerata Chamber Singers, as well as other ensembles. Before his time at Yale, McNeil served as choral director at several primary/secondary schools and churches in Wisconsin, Illinois, and Indiana. He earned his Master of Music degree in choral conducting at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music. He has extensive training in historical performance practice (including Renaissance polyphony) and vocal pedagogy in the choral rehearsal at both Yale and Indiana University.
